How long have you been at PAWS?

I have been volunteering at PAWS for 4.5 years! I am currently a Friday PM Dog Shift Leader, and I also foster PAWS animals.

What's your favorite thing about PAWS?

My favorite thing about PAWS is that all animals are given individual care and consideration based on their personalities and individual needs! Our animals are SO loved by our staff and volunteers, and are given so much love and attention until they find their forever homes!

What's your favorite thing to do at PAWS?

While I love my Friday night shifts at PAWS, I definitely enjoy fostering the most! Yes, it's hard to say goodbye sometimes, but it's worth it. I have fostered 18 dogs, 1 adult cat, and 5 kittens - they all had different histories, personalities, energy levels, and some even had special medical needs. It's so rewarding to know that I was able to give them all a soft place to land until they found their forever homes.

What are your favorite non-PAWS hobbies?

When I'm not at PAWS, I usually spend most of my time with my friends (also PAWS volunteers!) and / or with my own dogs! I enjoy a nice scenic hike or having a quiet evening at home.

How long have you lived in Centre County?

I moved to State College to attend Penn State for my undergraduate degree, and have been here ever since - 14 years almost to the day!

What's your favorite food?

I can't pick a favorite, as I love trying new foods! My favorite recent (and local!) meal was a Pickles "Kitchen Takeover" hosted by Derek Polay from The Cakeshop by Tati - I highly recommend anything made by Derek and Tati!

What's your favorite book?

I don't think I could choose between my top two favorites: Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, or The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides - though I love to read, so recommendations are always welcome!
