Centre County PAWS is pleased to announce the re-start of its Read to the Animals Program! This is a literacy program for children, most suited for those in grades 1-6, who love animals and would like the opportunity to spend time with the shelter cats and dogs. This program provides a positive impact on the animals as well as the opportunity for children to improve their reading skills while providing socialization, human interaction, and relieving anxiety for the animals at the shelter.
To ensure proper social distancing, limited spaces are available to the first 5 registered participants for each time slot. Email Pat to join 1 of the following groups.
Fall Session (August - November)
Group 1 - 2nd Thursday of the month (5:30-6:30PM)
Group 2 - 4th Monday of the month (1:30-2:30PM)
Please print out and bring the Reading Program Waiver with you on your first visit, or submit by mail or email in advance. Please note: children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. One adult may supervise a maximum of 2 children.
