The rare male calico
Male cats with both orange and black coloring are extremely rare. They are also almost always sterile. This is because in order for them to have both orange and the black in their coats, they must have all or part of both female X chromosomes.

Cats and Dogs of the Month
Buddy
Buddy is a 7 year old super friendly neutered yellow lab. He is a big boy at 75 pounds and he is good with children and other dogs. Everyone dog he meets he has liked so far. The only no-no is cats - he needs to be in a home without them. He is house trained but will occassionally mark. He can be left alone in the house. Buddy is living at the center and would love to get into a home soon! Click on his picture to see another pose. ADOPTED 7/12/10
