Fur Ball Photos
The 1st Annual PAWS Fur Ball was held at Centre Hills Country Club on October 7, 2006. The beautiful setting matched the wonderful cause of raising funds for the new PAWS facility. 
The welcoming committee 
The centerpieces by "Daniel Vaughn Event Designs" created a festive atmosphere. Half of the tables were graced by cat themed arrangements. 
And, of course, the other half of the tables sported dog themed arrangements that were as creative and festive as their feline counterparts. 
Friendly conversation during the cocktail hour 
The appetizers were delicious 
Debbie Bezilla, current PAWS treasurer, development committee and wearer of many hats since PAWS was first created, greets guests from the Animal Medical Hospital administration.

Lively dinner conversations flourished 
Time to finish the molten chocolate lava dessert cakes and get ready for the auction. 
Fred Metzger, DVM, PAWS advisory committee, musician and auctioneer extraordinaire, assisted by PAWS volunteer and Fur Ball committee member, Mary Miles, and friend are all set to start the fun 
His colleagues seem to be enjoying his auctioneering abilities and lively banter.

And the happy winning bidder for the signed Ben Roethlisberger jersey is........Lee Metzger. 
The lively bidding for the bejeweled gold scooper elicits lots of laughter. It might just show up hanging up in the new PAWS center!

PAWS volunteers and board members get things started. Weren't you just out at the PAWS center 2 hours before this? 
So many talented dancers took to the dance floor and enjoyed the music.

This is what the evening is all about- raising funds to make life better for homeless dogs and cats. Here the dogs say "thanks" via a poster
Likewise, the PAWS cats say "thanks" too. Without the generous support of so many people the dream of a new facility would not be so close to reality. Next year the new center should be open!
Smiles and fun were the order of the evening.
