2009 PAWS Pet Extravaganza
Sunday, September 20, 2009, 11 am to 4 pm, at Penn State's Snider Ag Arena
Fun for the entire family!
Centre County PAWS is holding its 10th annual Pet Extravaganza on Sunday, September 20, 2009, 11am to 4 pm, at Penn State's Snider Ag Arena. Admission is free, although donations are encouraged and appreciated. Pets are welcome as long as they are on leashes or in carriers and have proof of a current rabies vaccination.
Select PAWS cats and dogs will be present and adoption applications will be available. Dogs will be in the main arena. Cats will be in the main area and in a separate "cat room" near the front entrance.
There will be live radio broadcasts on WOWY 97.1 during the Extravaganza.
A Home for Every Pet
The theme of the 2009 Pet Extravaganza is "A Home for Every Pet," with the logo designed by Kylie, age 16. It's sure to be a fun packed day for all who attend. Several new demonstrations and events are being planned. Please check back often to see updated details and schedules on this webpage.

- • Rabies Vaccination Clinic - 11am - 4pm, Sponsored by Centre Animal Hospital and State College Veterinary Hospital. Each vaccination will cost $5.
- • Microchip Clinic - 11am - 4pm, Sponsored by Animal Medical Hospital. Each microchip will cost $20.

- • Doggie Fashion Show - featuring rescue dogs modeling high fashion

- • Best Dressed/Owner Look-Alike Contest
- • "Who Bakes the Better Biscuit" Contest - test your baking skills against those of the pros. Judges will be dogs of course. Bake at least 1 and 1/2 dozen biscuits (no raisins or chocolate) and bring them to Ag Arena at 11 am.
- • You and Your Pet Photo Shoot - 12-2 pm - $5
- • 2010 PAWS Pet Extravaganza Logo Contest - design the logo for next year's Pet Extravaganza!

Purrfectly Silent Auction
Bidding will be opened at 11 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. Winning bids will be announced by 4 p.m. You do not need to be present to win your bid. Items include restaurant gift certificates, pet items, jewelry, spa services, art items in various mediums from prints to fabric, and much, much more! The silent auction items include:

Annual PAWS Pet Extravaganza Raffle
Tickets will be available to purchase during the event or from your favorite PAWS volunteer beforehand. Drawings take place around 3:45 p.m. Winner need not be present to win. More prizes and chances to win than listed on the raffle tickets! Annual Extravaganza Raffle Tickets for 2009 are $2 each or 3 for $5. The raffle prizes include:

Lucky Dog Raffle
Buy tickets on site and then choose which canister to put them in. Canisters will be beside the prizes and the winning ticket for each prize will be drawn from that specific canister. This should be lots of fun and prizes will include donated items from local businesses and theme baskets. Maybe YOU will be the Lucky Dog whose ticket stub gets chosen to win the prize or prizes you chose to take a chance on. Lucky Dog Tickets will be $1 each or in combinations of 6/$5; 12/$10; and 25/$20.
Items won in Purrfectly silent auction, Annual Raffle, and Lucky Dog Raffle must be claimed within 30 days of being notified of winning or they will be forfeited. Thank you.
Craft and Bake Sale and PAWS Merchandise
Tables featuring pimarily handcrafted items and homemade baked goods for pets and people. PAWS merchandise includes t-shirts, sweatshirts and totebags with the PAWS logo and notecards with photos of PAWS cats and dogs.
New for 2009! Wristbands with the "A Home for Every Pet" logo, on sale for $5 each. The wristbands are eco-friendly and made in the USA.
Also new for 2009! 16-month 2009-2010 calendars featuring all of the logos submitted by youth in a contest to design the logo for this year's Pet Extravaganza. The calendars will list the dates of upcoming PAWS events and other dates important to animal rescue and welfare.
