The color of the points on Siamese cats is actually related to their body heat. Cool areas, such as their ears, noses, and tails, are darker. Warm areas, such as their legs and trunk, are lighter. This is why Siamese kittens are born white. The heat inside the mother's uterus gives all their body parts about the same warm temperature.

Whistler Whistler is a 3 year old neutered Akita mix who is very friendly and social. Whistler is tall as you can see in his pictures and he weighs in at 90 pounds. He is good with other dogs, cats and even horses! He is house and crate trained and living at the center. Click on his picture to see another pose. Often black dogs take longer to be adopted.
