Stubby

Stubby is a 1 year old husky who was rescued from a bad situation. He loves other dogs and would be ok with teens and older children. Stubby was living in an outdoor kennel with his siblings and will need to learn house training. Huskies are very intelligent though and should learn quickly. Stubby has a stub tail; he is very shy right now and is also a little hand shy but quickly coming out of his shell.  He prefers the company of other dogs over people at this point.  He is living at the center and will be neutered prior to adoption.  Click on his picture to see another pose.

Tito

Tito is a 3 year old neutered 65 pound husky who was rescued from a bad situation. He loves other dogs and is good with children. Tito was living in an outdoor kennel with his siblings and will need to learn house training. Huskies are very intelligent though and should learn quickly.  Tito is just the sweetest boy! He is gentle and loving but still enjoys his play time with his buddies and going for walks. He is living at the center.

Mya

Mya is a 2 year old 55 pound spayed husky who was rescued from a bad situation. She loves other dogs and is good with older children. Mya was living in an outdoor kennel with her siblings and will need to learn house training. Huskies are very intelligent though and should learn quickly. Mya is a little bit shy but has a sweet temperment. She is living at the center.

Max

Max is a 1 year old husky who was rescued from a bad situation.   He loves other dogs and is good with children.  Max was living in an outdoor kennel with his siblings and will need to learn house training.  Huskies are very intelligent though and should learn quickly.  Max is happy and outgoing.  He jumps a lot to give hugs and kisses to everyone he meets.  He is living at the center and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Bella Baby...I come with free training!

A generous person has donated free dog training classes to anyone who adopts Bella!   It is not required but training is beneficial for any dog and new owner!!!  Bella Baby is a 4-5 year old spayed pit bull.  Since Bella Baby has come to PAWS, we have learned that she is housebroken, cratetrained, and will need to be in a home without other dogs. Bella doesn't want to worry about sharing her people with other pets, it should be all about her!  She really wants her family to be made of adults with older or no children. Bella Baby loves being with people and loves to play and eat! She really dislikes living in a kennel at PAWS even though everyone is nice to her and gives her Kongs and treats. Rudolph...I come with free training!

A generous person has donated free dog training classes to anyone who adopts Rudolph! It is not required but training is beneficial for any dog and new owner!!! Rudolph is just a wonderful cuddlebug. When he spends time in one of the meeting rooms at PAWS , he loves to take naps on the sofa and put his head in your lap. He is a 2 year old pit bull mix (maybe American Bull dog mix) who was found as a stray on someone's back porch. He is 65 pounds of pure muscle. He is very friendly at PAWS but can be aloof when first meeting new people. Don't let that fool you though, he's a real sweetheart! Rudolph may do alright in a home with another dog about his size who is female (and spayed of course), but would do best as an only pet. He will need to work on house training, but when he is left in our meet and greet room for hours, he doesn't have any accidents and does his business outside when walked. Rudolph loves to play with toys, get exercise with volunteers outside, and hang out in the PAWS kitchen. Elvis

Elvis is a sweet, floppy hound mix puppy who was born on 5/30/10.  Elvis is a little more adventurous than his brother Evan.  He hasn't met a toy he doesn't like and he also enjoys water! Evan sleeps in a crate at night and knows to wait to go to the bathroom in the morning until taken outside. Right now, his foster mom is working on house training him and takes him out frequently. He is friendly when meeting the neighborhood dogs but startles easily at new sounds as he is learning about the world. He is learning to respect cats and will bark but not chase them.

Evan

Azul

Azul is a 2.5 year old spayed lab/pointer mix.  Azul is a cool looking dog who is good with most other dogs.  She is not good with cats.  In her foster home, she is totally house trained and can be left alone without damaging anything.  She loves car rides and stuffed animals.  Her favorite treat is ice cubes.  Azul does not like small children so she would be best in a home with no children or older teens.

Stevie

Stevie is a 1 year old spayed beagle mix who weighs 35 pounds.  She was found as a stray but has been living with a family for two months and they have found that she is good with children.  Stevie is good with other dogs.   She has not yet been exposed to cats.  Stevie is mostly house trained but still will have accidents.  Stevie is living at the center. Click on her picture to see another pose.

LuLu

LuLu is a sweet 5 year old spayed rat terrier mix who weighs 18 pounds.She came in as a stray and was transfered from the SPCA. She was adopted and then quickly returned because of her new owner's allergies. Because her history is unknown, she will only be placed with older children. LuLu is good with cats but has been growly with other dogs. She is almost house trained but still needs work. She will mark in the house and will need training to stop this habit.Lulu seems to be crate trained. She is living in a foster home. Click on her picture to see another pose.

Duke

Duke is a 5 year old German Shepherd mix who was adopted by PAWS at 6 months old and recently returned because he did not get along with the child in the family.  He is a very friendly dog and is very patient waiting his turn at PAWS.  He gets along with some dogs and is house and crate trained.  He walks well on a leash and is a great medium size.  Duke sits automatically for treats and will wait patiently until he gets one.  He will not be placed with a family with children due to his past plus he came in fearful to PAWS so we are taking it slow with this nice boy. Duke has a high prey drive so he most likely would not be good with cats.  Click on his picture to see another pose.

Chester

Chester is a 1 year old neutered chihuahua/beagle mix who is super cute and full of energy.  He loves to snuggle with his person.  He came in as a stray so he will only be placed with older children.  He is super friendly and likes other dogs very much.  Chester will need work on house training but does sleep nicely overnight in a crate.  He is living at the center. Honey Bee

Honey Bee is a 7 year old German Shepherd Dog.  Originally kept outside in a pen, we have found that this sweet girl is house trained and does not need to be crated!  She has a nice temperment and likes other dogs.   She is a large dog but is good with children, probably better with older children due to her size.   At the kennel Honey Bee was anxious but in her new foster home she is much more relaxed although she is still shy with strangers.  Click on her picture to see another pose.

Bella

Bella is a 1 year old labradoodle (lab/standard poodle mix).  She came in with Evie and is the smaller of the two.  Bella has lots of energy and could benefit from some training.  She would be best with older children since she does jump.  She is good with dogs and cats and is also house and crate trained.  Bella is living at the center.

Chief

Chief  is a 5.5 year old neutered German Shepherd/lab mix who weighs 70 pounds.  He is great with children and loves to play ball.  Chief is house trained and is making strides on crate training in his foster hom.  He has some separation anxiety which his foster is working with Chief on and he is responding beautifully so far. His foster mom actually videotaped him when she left him in a crate and he spends the first few minutes whining and trying to pull the door to him to get out.  If that fails, he settles down and it's over.  He was left with free roam of the house a few times for no more than 2-3 hours and he didn't harm anything.  She noted his biggest issue is he doesn't like other dogs.  He will bark continuously when he sees another dog until they are out of his sight.  That is really the only time he barks. Buddy

Buddy is a 7 year old  neutered Jack Russell Terrier.  He came in with Snickers - their owner moved away and couldn't keep them.  Buddy is energetic and loves attention.  He loves having physical contact with his person.  He has been around toddlers and did fine with them.  He is also good with dogs and has even played with a guinea pig in his past!  He is house and crate trained.  Buddy has season allergies that give him a red eye.  He is living in a foster home. Bandit

Bandit is a 5 year old neutered border collie who weighed 90 pounds when he first came to PAWS! He has worked hard and played lots of fetch and is now down to 70 pounds! Way to go Bandit! Bandit's owner moved so he is now living in a foster home.  Bandit loves to play ball.  He is house trained and is left alone in the house without incident but the trash needs to be put away.  He is good with older children  having lived with a teenager only.  He is also good with other dogs and cats (he is in a foster home with two cats now). When outside, he does go after rabbits and squirrels. Bandit tends to drool on car rides. Bandit is in a foster home. Click on his picture to see another pose.

Troy

Troy is a 2 year old neutered Jack Russell Terrier.  He is good with children, other dogs and cats.  Troy was returned to PAWS after being in a home for 2 months and they reported having some trainig issues.  He is back in his foster home and has not had a single accident or marked and they report that he is a super dog.  He snuggles in bed with them all night and is a real love.  Troy is also crate trained.   This poor boy has been bounced around to several homes in his short life and really wants to find his forever home soon. Luna

Our sleek black beauty Luna is a spayed 4 year old lab mix.  Her fur is very soft!  She is completely house trained and, while she is not cratetrained, she can be left alone in the house. Luna needs to be the only pet as she does not get along with other dogs or cats.  Luna's new ownder will need to complete training after adoption which has been pre-paid by a generous donor.  Please come out and meet our sweet Luna.  Luna is living in a foster home. Charlie...I come with free training!

Charlie is an exotic looking 8 month old red lab mix.  Charlie was surrendered because he is aggressive to other dogs outside of the home but he did live with other dogs and was fine with those.  He is not good with young children.  Charlie does come with free dog training to work on these issues.  He will only be placed in a home with older children or no children.  Since he is still a puppy, with the proper training and owner, he should blossom into an awesome pet.  Charlie is house and crate trained and is very scared at the kennel.  He will need to be neutered prior to adoption.

Cooper

Hi! My name is Cooper and I'm an adorable poodle/terrier mix! I'm a little guy - I only weigh about 20 lbs. I have lots of energy, but not too much. I would love to go on walks with my new people. I am very loyal and affectionate, and would love to sit on your lap! I want to be with my person when they are home. Sometimes I sleep in bed with my person, and sometimes I sleep on a dog bed next to my person's bed. I've been bounced around a lot and am a little insecure. So you have to be patient with me. I am housetrained and extremely bright! I am already neutered. I am living in a kennel and need an adult-only home. Also, I need a home without any other dogs. I am fine with cats, although I may chase them at first, but then I stop. You can meet me at the Sunday dog showings or by appointment. Please think about making me part of you home!

Honey

Honey is a 9 year old spayed lab mix.  Please read her story...maybe you are the special person she needs.  Honey's owner is going into a nursing home and sadly has to rehome Honey in September.  Honey has been well loved and taken care of her whole life and we hope she can find a new home to transition to that will give her all the love and special attention she needs.  She is a precious girl who is diabetic and suffers from chronic ear infections.  She is also a little OCD with licking.  Honey has been around children as young as 3 years old and is also house trained.  She might tolerate another dog if he/she was calm and quiet.  Honey just sleeps when left alone and can have free roam of the house.  She is living with her owner until Labor Day.

Coco

Coco is a 5 year old neutered chocolate lab mix who weighs 52 pounds.  He has a very friendly and outgoing personality and is energetic and playful.  Coco was not good with the child in his previous home so he should be placed with a family with no children or teenagers only.  We're told he was possessive of his food and water bowls with the child.  Coco likes other dogs and is house and crate trained.  He is living at the center.  Click on his picture to see another pose.

Bailey

Bailey is a 5 year old neutered lab/spaniel mix.  He is very sweet and loves to climb into your lap.  Bailey is good with children but most likely needs to be an only pet.  He is also house and crate trained.  He is just an all around awesome dog.  Bailey is living at the center. Gabby

Gabby is a lovely 4 year old spayed coonhound. Her owner died and she finds herself in need of a new home.  Gabby weighs 60 pounds.  She is good with other dogs and is house and crate trained.  Gabby is doing very well in her foster, very mellow at home. She is a super sweet dog.  Not all dogs "show" well on Sundays at PAWS with all of the commotion and her foster mom reports that she is just a sweetheart at home.  Gabby loves to chase her Kong toys and bones but chews up the soft plush ones.  She does not touch the furniture, shoes, clothes, etc in the house.  She sleeps on the couch or dog bed but not in the people's bed.  Gabby is not a big cuddler.  Since we do not know her full history, she would be best with older children.  Gabby is living in a foster home.

Lucy

Lucy is a 4 year old spayed beagle/bassett mix who weighs 22 pounds.  Her owner surrendered her because they are moving.  She is not good with children, likes some dogs (mostly male) and is house and crate trained.  Lucy is not good with cats.  Her foster mom reports that she is very sweet and a little shy only at first.  She loves car rides and sleeps next to her foster dog brother.  When she starts shaking her head, it has a ripple effect to the end of her tail....long after the head has stopped! She also can walk on her back two legs like a circus dog!  She is living in a foster home.  Click on her picture to see another pose.

Buster Brown

Buster Brown is a 6 year old Boster Terrier who weighs 40 pounds (He is losing weight in his foster home though!).  He has a great personality and a calm disposition but also loves to play.  Buster Brown is good with older children and other dogs.  He does not like cats however.  He is house and crate trained but he is fine being left alone in the house.  His owner moved to an assisted living facility and Buster Brown now needs a new home.  Buster Brown does not being woken up unexpectedly so it is best to let noise or vibrations wake him rather than by petting him.  He is living in a foster home and likes to sleep on his doggy bed in the bathroom with a nightlight! Patches - APPLICATION PENDING

Patches is a 1 year old (born 8/20/09) Jack Russell Terrier.  She is a very small playful JRT at only 15 pounds.  Her owner had too many pets and not enough time.  Patches was kept outside her whole life so she is know learning house and crate training in her foster home.  She is good with children and other dogs. Blaze is a gorgeous 7-8 year old cocker spaniel who weighs 43 pounds.  He is a super friendly dog who likes children, dogs and cats although he will bark at cats.  He is house trained and crate trained but he can be trusted in the house alone.  Click on his picture to see another pose.

Rufus - ADOPTION PENDING

Rufus is an 6 year old Shih tzu who is just darling. His home was burned down and his owner does not have room for him now. He is a sweet little guy who likes to be held.  Rufus was not getting along with the toddler in his family.  He would be fine with an older child though who knew how to treat a dog gently.   Rufus is a real cutie even with his current crazy "fur cut".  He likes to cuddle and give little kisses.  He is good with other dogs and cats. Rufus is nearly house trained and just needs someone to get him on a regular routine and watch him closely. He is not yet crate trained but he does sleep through the night without any accidents.  He loves to play fetch with small plush toys and go for as many walks per day as possible. He also loves to be close by all the time and take naps anywhere soft.
