AdaAda's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Medium HairDOB: 10/29/08 A PAWS momcat Beautiful Ada is one of this season's first momcats to come into PAWS. She had a litter of 4 bouncing and playful boys (known as the "Programmers") who all have gone off to their own homes. Ada, like all the moms, deserves to find her forever home quickly and to be treated like the little queen that she is. Foster mom thinks Ada is one cool cat. Ada's foster says Ada can be adventurous in a ladylike way and enjoys talking a little and seeking out attention. ADOPTED 7/8/10 |

BlinkyBlinky's bio at the time of adoption:Male-neutered, Domestic LonghairDOB: 02/01/01 "What's going on here? I'm handsome. I'm calm, cool and collected. I should have been adopted in the blink of an eye and yet here I still am." Blinky is a nice guy. He likes to talk, but oh so softly. So for relaxed conversations with a great cat, please stop by to meet him during adoption hours at PAWS. Blinky has been featured on local news shows and while being filmed he was absolutely non-plussed by the PAWS dog who was also part of the filming and who showed a lot of up close and personal interest in Blinky. This friendly cat also appears in one of PAWS two new Public Service Announcements. He was an absolute delight on the trip into town and the entire time he was in the studio. You can see him in the second PSA by clicking here for New PAWS PSAs for 2009 HEY! There's really something to the saying that things coming in 3's! First Bailey was adopted, then Bingo and now ME, Blinky! The 3 handsome "B's"....all adopted, or soon to be! (My person told me she'll be away until early January, so you'll still see me around for a little while....but not for long. PAWS will have to find a new "spokescat"! :) --Blinky ADOPTED 1/22/10 |

I'm all dressed up and ready to go to my home." Sweet and petite Boki has little white "mittens" on her front paws and long white "stockings" on her hind legs. It's hard to believe this little cat is actually a momcat, having been expecting when rescued. Lefty, also available for adoption, is her son. Some folks have found it hard to believe that she's not a kitten! ADOPTED 4/3/10 |

ButterscotchButterscotch's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 07/24/09 "My name matches my coat and my sweetness" From Foster Mom – March 24, 2010 Now that sister Patches has been adopted, Butterscotch is looking for a forever home, too. Won’t you consider this sweet kitten who was brought to PAWS as a stray from Bellefonte? Butterscotch has a beautiful, sleek coat in soft buff-orange and white. Her gold, almond-shaped eyes are large, expressive, and exotic-looking. She is playful, often to the point of being silly. She doesn’t need a toy to be amused; she’ll find a little piece of wood, a chap stick, or a bottle cap and bat it around the floor. She especially loves hiding, and then finding, her play-thing under a rug or mat. She wants to be near-by her foster mom all day, following her from room to room, sleeping beside her chair in front of the fireplace, and spending the nights on her bed. She is beginning to enjoy being picked up and held if approached gently. At the Center, she is very shy. In a meet-and-greet room, she spends her time sniffing out all the other cats who have been there, virtually ignoring the people in the room, even her foster mom. Hopefully, this won’t discourage the right, gentle soul who considers adopting her. Her foster home has three adult male cats. Butterscotch is not intimidated by any of them; in fact, she seems to believe that they all love her, though that may not always be true! She’s especially attached to the youngest, a two-year old former PAWS cat, who looks very much like her. Butterscotch apparently thinks this cat is her “mother.” “Mother” tolerates as much as he can, playing and grooming; then, when he’s had enough, he finds a place to hide. ADOPTED 4/29/10 |

Buzz- the ExplorerBuzz- the Explorer's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 05/06/09 First the moon and now Dancing With the Stars! My namesake (you may remember him….Buzz, like in Buzz Aldrin, the astronaut) is really getting around even now! Me…I’ve been kinda stuck on the launch pad, so I thought it was about time someone fired up the engines and lifted me off and away to Wiscoy. Well, here I am....safely landed, hoping it’s from here that my last and best adventure will soon begin! I was born 5/6/09, making me yet another one of PAWS’ Kit-Teens. My mom was Abigail and what a beautiful mom she was! My four brothers, one sis and I all were named after famous explorers. Mom was adopted first, then Samuel, Jacques and Amelia. But Christopher, Edmund and I still are sailing the oceans, climbing mountains, flying all the way to the moon looking for…..YOU? I’m a good fellow, very affectionate, love to play, still have lots of adventure left in me. You can adopt just me, but if you think it’d be neat to have two famous Explorers, my brothers can be seen at the PAWS Adoption Center on the weekends. We all get along just fine. --Buzz ADOPTED 6/19/10 |

Christopher, ExplorerChristopher, Explorer's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 05/06/09 "I've explored the New World and now I really want my own home in it" says now not so little Christopher (Columbus). Christopher was originally listed with the litter of kittens named for Explorers. They were born as PAWS kittens to a stray very pregnant momcat, Abigail, who actually got her home first, an unusual occurrence. This little explorer has turned into quite a handsome big boy in his older kitten phase, and is extremely endearing; not to mention fun and playful. And yes, he's still seeking new adventures only this time in his own forever home. ADOPTED 8/4/10 |

ClarenceClarence's bio at the time of adoption: Male-Neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 05/11/09 Clarence has been a PAWS kitten since he was a bit smaller. You can see his early photo by clicking for the larger image. He's a really handsome buff teenager who is every bit as charming and playful currently as he was when younger. Here's how foster mom describes him: Clarence is playful and affectionate. He loves attention of all kinds and purrs with abandon when loved. There are dogs and cats in his foster home and at nap time and night time he can often be found snuggling up to a toy poodle, a yorkshire terrier puppy, one of several "big brothers" or the people in the house. Claudia Jean aka CJClaudia Jean aka CJ's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Medium HairOne of this year's young momcats-not much more than a year or 2 years old herself "I'm gorgeous. Come on up and see me some time!" CJ comes off as a sassy lassy sometimes because she's quite protective of her cubicle at the adoption center. When she has the freedom to roam the cattery though she can be very affectionate and in a home where she's out and about would be very happy and do very well. She loves lounging on the cat tree in the cattery. Her kittens have been adopted for a long time now and CJ is still waiting. ADOPTED 2/10/10 |

DaystarDaystar's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 04/27/08 "I'm a star, day or night. Adopt me and you'll discover that I'll shine every hour in a forever home." From Daystar's holiday foster: "At the center, Daystar had a reputation for being "swatty", particularly when she was confined. I agreed to foster her because I figured she could hold her own against my 3 somewhat "in your face" boy cats and my 6-month old puppy. As soon as she settled in, Daystar was a different kitty! She wants to sit on my lap and she follows me everywhere. At first she was a little intimidated by the other cats, but by the second day, she was racing around with them like she's lived here forever. She is completely unfazed by my dog, despite his licking her head and chasing her. I work from home, so she has spent her days sleeping on a pillow on top of my printer or on my lap. Daystar is such a pretty, petite kitty, everyone who comes to the house just loves her. She is very clean and has perfect litterbox habits. She's a good eater and lets you know if you forget about dinnertime! If she wants a drink, she'll get into the bathtub and wait for me to turn on the water. She usually sleeps at the foot of my bed with one of my other cats. She loves to play with the ball in the track toy and the laser pointer. Daystar would probably adjust to any household, but she may not be overly excited about kids, mainly because she would rather not be picked up a lot. She is a bit shy at first, but within minutes she’s out and about. She loves to have her chin scratched and her head petted, but will meow if you scratch her back. She truly is a sweet cat, and if I could keep her, I would without question (in fact, my fiance suggested we "trade" one of my other cats for her!!). Daystar doesn't need tons of affection, but she always wants to be around and in on the action." ADOPTED 8/1/10 |

DigitsDigits's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Shorthair~DOB: 04/05/09 New Top Model "Digits" takes to the Cat Walk with style! PAWS has a new model in town who loves strutting her stuff on the cattery cat walks when she's out and about. Well, to be honest, she also likes to just lie there and look out the window too. If you happen to be there when she's in the cattery, just look up at the cat walks that connect the areas and you are likely to spot her there! Digits has lots of personality and a little something extra--toes! She's polydactyl. No one ever said models have to have small feet. ADOPTED 4/10/10 |

Do Si DoDo Si Do's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Medium HairDOB: 05/08/09 "Who would ever have thought I'd be here for this year's Girl Scout Cookie sale?" Yes, Do Si Do is now a bit older than when she was first listed with her littermates as Girl Scout Cookie named kittens. But she's still a young adorable kitten. Here's what her foster mom says about her: Do-Si-Do is a lot like Samoa in a lot of ways. Her fur is very soft and of course she is as gorgeous as Samoa! Do-Si-Do is quiet too, but not quiet as Samoa. She is a little more playful than Samoa. She doesn't come up on my lap very often, but most often will sleep with me at night. She seems to be needier at night...wanting her petting and loving then! Very sweet girl, most likely would do best in a quieter home, but may be ok with some chaos (I mean, afterall, her foster home is full of foster cats, resident cats and cat chaos:) At last, at last....goin' home with sister Samoa! We waited a long time for our family and we're SO glad they chose both of us! ADOPTED 5/22/10 |

DudeDude's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairAdult "Just call me 'The Dude'. I keep my cool even when I'm out for a night on the town helping to raise funds for PAWS at Comedy Club. Those humans were all riled up and laughing up a storm. Me? I spent the time chillin' on a volunteer's lap purring my great big Dude purrs. Have lap? Adopt me. I will sit and purr for hours." Dude is an amazing cat. He’s remarkably friendly and social, almost like a little dog. Dude jumps right on laps, talks, and follows his people around. We’ve even been training him to wear a harness for walks! Dude lived outside as a stray and likely got beaten up by some bigger cats…he’s a lover, not a fighter. He's "The Dude"! Dude’s a black cat with really unique white specks throughout his fur and a white band on his chest. Dude’s only challenge is that he needs to find a home where he can live apart from other cats for his own protection. He’s tested positively for the FIV retrovirus, so needs to protect his immune system. He could live with other positive testing cats. Dude loves to be with humans and dogs. Please come out to meet this extraordinary cat and learn more about him from the volunteers. ADOPTED 4/12/10 |

DukeDuke's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 02/09/07 "I think my name should be Teddy as in Ted E. Bear!" Duke is one gentle armful of bumpin’, lovin’, wonderful cat. Reminds you of a big live stuffed toy! He’s mellow and sweet but an independent and somewhat cautious fellow at the same time. Duke loves a good head rub and will seek one out, and he’s always excited to see and be near people. At times, he might seem a little sad, but…that’s just Duke. Pet him and he’s putty in your hands. Duke would be happiest in a fairly calm and quiet household with no young children. He should do fine with another laid-back cat, but he’d prefer not having to clash with a more aggressive one. That’s just not his style. Duke is up-to-date on his rabies and distemper vaccinations and is all ready-set-go to find a family who will spend time with him, pet him to his heart’s content and love him forever! EllisEllis's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 07/07/08 "It's time to stop the talking. I still need a home to call my own." Ellis was originally listed with The Talk Show Host named kittens. He was a tiny kitten back then-over a year ago! He was first thought to be "Ellen"--oops! As you can see he is a handsome black and white young fellow and he needed a name change, so "Ellis" he is. He's at a really nice age, not too young, not quite grown up yet. Many people love a cat at this stage of its life, but often it will get overlooked by those seeking little kittens, so please give Ellis a second look and a chance to find his home soon. FirstieFirstie's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: ~10/12/05 Firstie might seem like a unique name for a cat, and it is. When he was first rescued, and needed a big drink of water, someone commented that he was very thirsty. The toddler in the house proceeded to say that he was really "firstie" and so a name begins. Firstie came to Centre County from Texas with other rescued animals, many of them Katrina rescues, awhile ago when his rescuer came here. Firstie seems like a love. He's tall and lean and really is more than ready to have his very own forever home where he's the center of attention and has a brand new loving life in Pennsylvania. ADOPTED 2/12/10 |

FreedomFreedom's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: ~07/04/05 Freedom is one of the "Katrina Kats". “Freedom” is knowing that you’re safe….from the elements and from those who would do you harm. “Freedom” is being warm and dry and not having to worry about where your next meal is coming from. “Freedom” is being loved for who you are….free to live every day as if it were your first, not your last. Katrina kitty Freedom is a great big tabby and “twin” brother of Justice. It would be difficult to find two more lovable cat brothers or two bigger ones! At first terrified at the Adoption Center, they hunkered down atop the row of cages in their room, plastered so tightly against the back wall that you had to stand on a chair to see them scrunched together in the corner. "Oh this is gonna be fun", we thought. Fun it has been – to watch how quickly these fellows found their courage, came forward to butt their heads against a reaching human hand, and in no time came down for pets and play. Freedom is still a little reserved…..give him another week to watch his brother and you’ll never suspect what these two guys went through as tiny kittens. They’ve weathered the storm for sure and will make wonderful companions for some lucky lover(s) of big, handsome cats. "I don't believe it! I'm gonna be with my brother again....his family is coming back for ME! Oh gosh, I hope Justice remembers me....he will, won't he?" (Editor's note: He did! :) ADOPTED 5/17/10 |

HedwigHedwig's bio at the time of adoption: Spayed Female, Domestic Shorthair/ManxDOB: 05/10/09 "PSSST---anyone see my tail?" Hedwig is one of a litter of kittens that sported "Harry Potter" names. Surely there's a "Potter" fan looking to tap the one remaining Potter kitten with a magic wand and whisk her away! Hedwig’s a teenager now (a “kitTEEN” we call her), so if you’re not up for all that little kitten mischief, she should be just right for you! Won’t you write the last chapter of Hedwig's tale? HEDWIG's tale: “Hi – My real name is Hedwig, but my friends call me “Hon Bun”! I was born May 10, 2009 to a farm cat. I am a manx, meaning I have no tail, but who really needs a tail? They just get in the way!! I love to play and cuddle and sleep on my foster mom's lap. I am not picky about food, so expect a little begging and watch your plate! I especially like cheese. My favorite toys are the laser pointer, the rings from milk jugs and toy mice, which I carry all over the house. My foster mom has even found them in her bed….hee, hee. :) I have adult cat friends in my foster home and we get along great. My two sisters have found their lifetime homes …..mine has to be out there SOMEWHERE!” -- Love, “Hon Bun” (as penned by Hedwig's faithful foster) ADOPTED 4/1/10 |

HeinleinHeinlein's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 03/13/08 From Heinz’s holiday foster: “Heinz, as he is now known by the volunteers and his foster mom, is an extremely pleasant and affectionate cat. He purrs when he is being fed, but he also likes to be petted and given a good belly rub. He loves looking out of a window and watching the outdoors. He and Snoopy are very close and are very playful with each other, running around the family room or hiding under the sofa together. Heinz loves to eat, so you have to be careful not to overfeed him. He enjoys playing with the red laser beam which I point on the wall or on the floor. He responds to his name, and duly returns to his private quarters whenever I ask him to do so. Heinz is also very curious. He likes to sniff or jump up high to explore any new thing. He's great with children and loved all the attention he got from my grandsons. Heinz is quite a lovable character!” ADOPTED (with girlfriend "Snoo"!) - 2/20/10 |

She is a rescued stray momcat whose kittens, now "teenagers", all have been adopted. Hershey is sweet, even-tempered and easy going….not a complete lap cat yet, but she will allow you to hold her for awhile. She doesn’t purr right away, but it comes! Hershey is good with people and gets along well with the other cats in her foster home. Now that her “ kids” are gone, it’s kittenhood time for Hershey once more. JusticeJustice's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: ~7/04/05 Justice is one of the "Katrina Kats". Sometimes it seems like there ain’t no justice in this world….for people or for animals who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Handsome Justice and his brother Freedom, then small kittens, were not in a good place when Hurricane Katrina blew through Texas in August 2005. Had it not been for a woman who was not a professional rescue worker, but who cared about these and dozens of other kittens, cats and dogs, one can only speculate how their story might have ended. But survive they did, justice was served, and here they are in Central PA….Freedom (see below) and Justice, two of the world’s most lovable big scaredy cats. When you come to PAWS to meet them, go into Sunshine’s Spa and look UP. Way back on top of the cages you’ll see some fur, tips of ears perhaps, and if you’re tall enough, two nearly identical faces. Call their names, wiggle a wand toy along the forward edge of the cages, and Justice will be a comin’ first. (He’s wearing a blue collar, so you’ll know for sure it’s him). He’ll bump and rub against your hand, and if he’s feeling really brave (which he does more and more each day), he’ll jump down into one of the cages and won’t be able to resist rolling around begging for attention. He’ll tell you all about it, introduce you to Mae and Little Bit, who very likely will be curled up in the cage he has commandeered, and you’ll see the makings of a very confident, secure and affectionate lovebug. Do Justice the perfect justice....take him home....and within days, you (and he) will think he’s been there forever. ADOPTED 3/30/10 |

KellyKelly's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairFront-declawed DOB: 07/01/07 “Look how special I am…..NO other PAWS kitty has her very own water fountain!” Kelly is a bright-eyed, sweet 2-1/2-year old with big round eyes that give her a very exotic look. Take a seat in her room and Kelly will jump into your lap and ask for pets. For now, please restrict your pets to her ears, neck and shoulders. She’s had some swelling in her lower back – we think she might have injured herself jumping from the top of her tower – and is still a bit sensitive in that area. A little weight loss might help to prevent something like this from happening again. :) Like her former roomie, Stella (who has been adopted), Kelly came to PAWS with a painful inflammation of her urinary tract which apparently had gone untreated for quite some time. With treatment…initially a wet food only diet and now a dry/wet combination…Kelly hasn’t had a recurrence of the condition since last August. She is intrigued by her water fountain and it encourages her to drink the extra water she needs. She would definitely enjoy having one like it when she finds her forever home! We’re sure that Kelly and Stella shared stories about their predicament with prospective adopters. Two lovely girls in search of calm, quiet homes and humans willing to go the small extra step of providing their vet-recommended diet and making sure they get enough water. Not too much to ask, is it? Stella found her perfect family….now it’s Kelly’s turn. Please stop in and say hello! ADOPTED 7/7/10 |

Kiki & KipperKiki & Kipper's bio at the time of adoption: DOB: 4/15/10Kiki: F DSH grey tabby Kipper: M DSH soft fluffy orange Kipper and Kiki are siblings found hiding under a piece of machinery near Spring Mills. Kiki is an active little tabby girl, always looking for a new adventure. She'll take time out, however, for cuddles. She loves to play with her brother, Kipper, but isn't too wild about the other cats in her foster home and may well prefer to be an only cat in her forever home. Her brother Kipper is a beautiful orange with slightly darker tips on his ears and tail. He is much more laid back than Kiki and a bit shy in new situations. He runs and plays and chases, but not as bravely as his big sister. He also is much more friendly with the other cats and kittens in his foster home and more inclined to want to be held and petted. Kiki is on the top and Kipper on the bottom. ADOPTED 7/31/10 - Kiki ADOPTED 8/3/10 - Kipper |

MeganMegan's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 11/01/08 My name is Megan and I’m another of Centre County PAWS “kit-Teens”…like Hedwig, Zoey and Marshall. If you visit Wiscoy often, you probably remember them. I'm 1-1/2 yrs. old, and being a little shy at the Adoption Center, I’ve yet to find my special person. I’ve been living in a foster home during the week with two toy poodles, an Australian cattle dog, a Yorkie pup and several cats and kittens. Believe me, I may be shy at the Center, but with this crowd, I’m in charge! We get along, but I set the rules. :) With people, I’m very affectionate and absolutely love getting attention from everyone in the house. My favorite house guest is an 8-year old boy who spends all of his time exclusively with ME. I love him! But in fact, I’ll make a great companion for someone of any age who can give me his time, love and a lifetime home. I’m oh so ready to be ADOPTED! -- Megan ADOPTED 5/18/10 |

MelMel's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 08/01/09 "Who needs a bushy tail anyway? Not me!" Mel is a cute little fellow with a look of wide-eyed wonder. His most endearing and unique feature though has got to be his long skinny tail. From Foster Mom – April 2010 Mel was found last fall playing alongside the road chasing moths and living amidst the marshmallow-looking wrapped hay bales in a nearby field. I trapped him and named him Marshmellow. He’s Mel for short now. Mel is very scared at the adoption center, but at home he is very playful. He has thoroughly bonded with me, is friendly with my husband and boys (12 and 10) but, for whatever reason, has decided he does not like my 14-year old daughter. She keeps trying to win his trust but he runs away and wants nothing to do with her. Yet sometimes he comes around when strangers are in the house. Strange. Mel initiates sitting on my lap while I'm at the computer or watching TV. He sleeps curled up next to my waist or legs at night and doesn’t wake me in the morning. If he’s already downstairs in the morning and hears me coming down the steps, he runs to greet me, throwing himself on the floor and rolling around with affection. He really wants to play with the other cats but they don’t want much to do with him. He hasn’t been around dogs but I think he would do ok with a cat savvy dog. Mel loves his treats….comes running when I shake the bag. He eats both moist and dry cat food and is perfect with his litterbox. Although our house is far from quiet, Mel would probably overcome his shyness and develop a strong bond with his new family more quickly in a quiet household. He is a cool cat. ADOPTED 8/22/10 |

MistyMisty's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Medium HairDOB: 9/19/07 (Mom to one tiny fellow named "Dink") “Mirror, mirror on the wall…who is the fairest of them all?" Why it’s Misty, of course, a very social, outgoing cat who loves attention and company! She enjoys chatting and responds to any remark with chirps and mews. Being such a social butterfly, she will probably do best in an active, busy household rather than one where she must spend lots of time by herself. From Misty’s holiday foster: Misty is a wonderful girl! She is far from shy in any way. All the kitties got along very well. She doesn’t like to be held, but she loves attention and will come lie on your lap…but only on her terms. If there is a free hand she will nudge it until you pet her!! Misty also loves hair in pony tails!!! She attacks it and plays with it when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV. She is still very, very playful for a 2+ yr old cat. She loves those furry little mice and balls with the bell in the middle. It was a joy to have her over the holiday! ADOPTED 5/16/10 |

MonaMona's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 11/01/2007 "Let me call you sweetheart, or better yet, let YOU call ME sweetheart"! January 4, 2010 From Mona’s holiday foster: Mona has done really well in our home. She is the sweetest cat! She loves to be around people and always gives a happy greeting. At first, she was shy and I think she gives this impression at PAWS, but in our home, she is playful, loving, and a great companion. Everything about her is soft, from her fur to her paws to her demeanor. She has met our cat and they are doing well together. She has become quite a lapcat and loves to snuggle up and get a face rub (her favorite)! Mona would do well in a single cat household or with other cats. She does well with kids too. Patches (of sisters Butterscotch and Patches)Patches (of sisters Butterscotch and Patches)'s bio at the time of adoption: Females-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 07/24/09 "Our names match our coats of course." Foster mom's first report on these adorable girls - 11/20/09: "Born in late July, these two sisters are still small kittens. They have come a long way toward enjoying contacts with people in their foster home. Butterscotch is still a bit shy. She was not a healthy kitty when she arrived at Paws, so she’s had to tolerate being medicated....and that’s not the easiest way to come to love your “keepers.” She will shy away from anyone who approaches her in the confines of the Paws center where everything is strange and stressful, but in her foster home, she’s blossoming. She purrs when picked up, and she runs and plays with toys and with her sister. These are good signs that she is developing into a sociable and lovable companion. Patches is an active, playful bundle. She loves playing with her toys and with Butterscotch, and even enjoys the licking and playfulness of a one-year old cat in her foster home. She’s very affectionate with her foster mom, and would, no doubt, transfer that love to a “forever” home. Both kittens have beautiful, silky coats and both have sweet faces with big, round eyes. Their litter box manners are perfect, and they both eat well. These sisters would love to be adopted together, but would do just fine alone. They would probably enjoy other pets in the house, too. In short, when you visit Butterscotch and Patches, they may seem fearful and shy away from you. But in their foster home, they are delightful and affectionate little creatures. They just need a gentle touch and time to get to know you. " ADOPTED 3/16/10 - Patches (Butterscotch now has a separate listing of her own) |

I did “miss the train” a few weeks ago….actually, I hid from my “travel agent” ‘cause I really didn’t want to take another “side trip” to PAWS. But the next week she convinced me that if I didn’t go, I might NEVER reach my “final destination”. So “travel agent” won. She is very gentle and loving and enjoys cuddling. She has excellent manners and has displayed no bad habits at her foster home. RoxieRoxie's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 02/25/09 A sweet and rather dramatically patterned tortie named for "Roxie", a character in the musical Chicago. Hi everyone! I’m “Roxie”, known as “Foxie Roxie” to some of my friends. Although I'm currently residing at Wiscoy, I’m a Centre Co. PAWS cat who would LOVE to find my own family….SOON! If you’ve visited Wiscoy recently, you may have seen my sister Veronica and me here together. But it was pretty cramped for two in this enclosure, so we took a short break, then tossed a coin and it came up that I’d serve as PAWS’ ambassador to Wiscoy and "Ronnie" would go to the Center. As fate would have it, first weekend back at the Center and “Ronnie” was adopted! So now I'm really all by myself. :( Some people say I’m shy, but I’m not. The more attention I get, the more I like it….and if you’ll play with me with one of these wands, you’ll see that I REALLY like to play. I’m fine with other cats, and even all the dogs coming through here don’t bother me much. My birthdate is 2-25-09, which makes me one of PAWS “kitteens”! Yup, a teenager – so if you’re not up for all that little kitten mischief, I should be just right for you! Love – “Foxie Roxie” ADOPTED 2/25/10 - Happy Birthday, dear girl! |

SaleenaSaleena's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 04/10/09 Beep, beep! I’m Saleena. You might think it kinda silly to name girls after cars….that’s a guy thing, isn’t it?....but I like my name. It’s pretty, like me! Like Lotus said (above), we’re waitin’ for you to “take us for a spin”….perhaps a “test drive” in one of the PAWS Meet and Greet rooms? You’ll have our “motors running” in no time, and like Taurus “zoomed” off to his new home, watch us “zoom” around the “track” (some people call it a “turbo” scratcher) trying to “win the race” with the tiny ball inside. Maybe then we’ll be ready to “idle” in your lap for awhile so you can get to know us. We’re still a little intimidated by this “garage” called the Adoption Center, but “drive us” outta here and our courage will be “cranked up” in no time….certainly in time for the holidays! SamoaSamoa's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic Medium HairDOB: 05/08/09 Samoa was first listed last spring as a tiny little "Girl Scout Cookie", kitten of mom , Scout. Why this beautiful youngster is still with us no one knows! Now a Kit-Teen, here is what her foster mom says about her: "Miss Prim and Proper" Samoa is the quietest of the cookies..her fur is a soft as silk! She has a little squeaky voice that is sooooo cute! Samoa is the first to jump up on my lap when I sit down to watch TV. She is somewhat timid, not scared, but doesn't like to be around of a lot of commotion, thus she’s not very outgoing at the adoption center. She gets along fine with all the other cats, but I think that she would be good as an only cat too. Samoa would make a great companion cat for a quieter home. Finally our time has come.....a family to call our own!! Do Si and ME.....together forever. We are SO happy. :) ADOPTED 5/22/10 |

SandySandy's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic Medium HairDOB: 09/01/08 "I'm one handsome guy!" This is Sandy, the one-time scared little fellow whose photo showed him hiding behind his bedding. He's grown into such a handsome young fellow. He occasionally still gives a perfunctory little hiss, but he just loves to play and get attention once he's given a chance. He's blossomed into such a nice young cat and is really looking forward to venturing into his very own forever home. ADOPTED 3/6/10 |

SaturnSaturn's bio at the time of adoption: Female -spayed, Domestic ShorthairD.O.B. 12/06 "I'm out of this world but I really want to be a part of yours." From Saturn’s holiday foster: "Saturn has been a great cat with wide open eyes and a fun-loving personality. She can play for hours with any kind of toy, hide and seek under a blanket, and with anything that has catnip. Saturn also loves treats, especially Greenies. When I'm not paying any attention to her, she comes and nips gently at my hands and at the jewelry around my wrists until I do. I've been able to pick her up and cuddle with her squirming less, give her tummy rubs, and she will, occasionally on her own, sit on my lap. The only little “habit” Saturn has is shredding any kind of paper -- magazines, paper towels, etc., and although she's a very efficient, happy shredder, she won't get into things on her own! With her own person, Saturn will become a wonderful companion in very little time." ADOPTED 4/25/10 |

ScarecrowScarecrow's bio at the time of adoption: Male, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 07/19/09 "Truth be told, I'm much too active, playful and fun to even pretend to be a scarecrow. Hi, I’m Scarecrow. I’m the last of the Halloween named kittens, and there’s nothing scary about me. My foster mom says I’m the most outgoing and friendly of the group, so why am I still here? I really love cuddling and often want nothing more than to warm up your lap. I could spend hours sleeping there if you’d let me. I also love to play; my favorite playtime activity is chasing jingly toys around the room. I am very soft and cuddly, and would love to find my forever home like the rest of my siblings did! ScribblesScribbles's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 11/11/96 Scribbles is a beautiful cat. When she first came to PAWS after years of being in a home, she was absolutely distraught and upset with the world. She's much calmer now, but still a little edgy and distrustful. With a patient adopter, Scribbles will once again accept love, and give it back freely. She is already beginning to seek and accept the affection of the volunteers. This green-eyed beauty would love a second chance in life. June 17, 2009 Hot off the press from foster mom….just 4 short days after welcoming Scribbles into her home! “You’ll be happy to know that Scribbles walked into my house acting like she has been here forever! She already has her favorite spots and loves to sit at the window looking out at the birds. She is very vocal (especially at feeding time) and follows me wherever I go in the house. She has even ventured upstairs because she wants to be with me. There was no hiding at first or any loss of appetite.” Sounds like Scribbles doesn’t even miss her pals at the Center! :) ADOPTED 3/21/10 |

SnoopySnoopy's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 09/11/08 "Surprise! I'm a girl! The 'Peanuts' Snoopy is a boy, but then again he's also a dog! I do like having fun with a certain boy at PAWS though, and that is Heinlein, aka Heinz. He likes me too." :) From Snoopy’s (and Heinz’s) holiday foster: Snoopy, a.k.a. “Snoo”, is shy and not yet very trusting of humans. She has started to warm up to me, especially when I open the door in the morning to feed her. She moves to her corner and waits, then somewhat reluctantly goes to her food bowl. She is a beautiful cat with splendid eyes and reminds me of an Egyptian Mau. Snoopy loves relaxing in the family room or being under the sofa for quiet time. I think she recognizes her name because her ears move and she looks straight at me in response. She is not as curious as Heinz, but his presence gives her comfort. If she cannot find him, she meows to get his attention. I talk to her a lot, but if I move too fast, she runs away. In the beginning, she hissed a lot, but now that she feels more comfortable the hissing is much less. It would be great if Snoopy and Heinz could be adopted together. Snoo needs a great deal of patience and attention to overcome her fears, but with Heinz as her best bud and role model, she'll gain confidence more quickly than she will on her own. ADOPTED (goin' home with Heinz!) - 2/20/10 |

SnowflakeSnowflake's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic LonghairDOB: 10/24/04 Front declawed "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow". If it doesn't, no problem. Your home will still be glistening if you adopt this big fuzzy lovable Snowflake that doesn't melt. To keep Snowflake mat-free and looking her finest, she needs to be groomed regularly. Most cats love the together-time that brushing gives them and their person. Snowflake misses the loving care she received from her owner who recently passed away. She will do best in a quiet home where she's the center of attention. From Snowflake’s holiday foster: SNOWFLAKE is one beautiful cat and she’s a sweetheart! She’s very well-behaved, always uses her litterbox. She comes to greet visitors and wraps her little body around their legs to be petted. There is still much "kitten" left in her. Snowflake likes interactive play with her feather on a string and with fuzzy balls. At times she likes to run thru the apartment - usually late at night or early morning of course! Snowflake does enjoy having her own room where she can be alone and stretch out and sleep. She doesn’t join me when I watch TV in the evening, preferring to stay in the bedroom atop my cedar chest where I’ve placed a down & feather comforter for her to sleep on. She gives a soft little purr-mew when I approach her there to pet her. It will be hard for me to bring her back to the Center….if my circumstances were a little different, I’d keep Snowflake in a heartbeat! ADOPTED 2/5/10 |

She's an extremely attractive young lady with uniquely placed bands of white amidst her grey tabby coat. ADOPTED 5/8/10 |

StellaStella's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorhairAge: ~2-3 years Front declawed Stella is one of the friendliest, most people-oriented cats ever to come through our doors. Having been abandoned in her carrier for no one knows exactly how long, one has to wonder that she didn’t end up distrustful of humans. Not Stella….she became the darling of the vet practice where she hung out while being treated for cystitis. After a few days, she had free access to the doctors’ offices and the staff begged to keep her right there as office cat! But....Stella came to PAWS where she currently shares a room with Kelly. Stella loves to be petted and admired, doesn’t mind be toted about, and is so happy to find an available lap. Why then has she not found a real home?? Stella hasn’t had a cystitis flare-up since October, but just having it on her record seems to intimidate potential adopters. Because stress often is a trigger to this condition (and Stella had her share of it over the past 6 mo.!), she will do best in a quiet, low-key environment. She eats a prescription dry food along with canned food (shredded chicken is her favorite!) with water added to be sure she gets plenty of moisture. A kitty fountain in her room encourages her to drink more, so it’d be nice if her adopter would buy her one….they’re not very expensive. Stella hopes someone will soon see how very little extra care she needs to keep her healthy. In exchange for the extraordinary love and companionship she can offer, what a small price to pay! Please, please visit Stella – such a dear cat needs a loving home of her own ASAP. ADOPTED 4/3/10 |

SweetcakeSweetcake's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 4/3/2001 Sweetcake is indeed as sweet as she is beautiful. She loves to be petted, brushed and generally made a fuss over. While living at the Center, she loved high places, climbing to the top of our tallest climber in order to supervise the goings on below. New photos and update from foster mom – January 2010 Sweetcake is just that...a sweetheart! She really has come out of her shell since coming to my house, which has been well over a year now. I foster other cats as well and have cats/kittens in my house all the time. She has gotten along just fine with everyone. Rarely do I see her snuggled up with someone, but she certainly is able to co-exist with other cats and dogs. Ideally, though, I think that Sweetcake would be happiest in a quiet home. She would love nothing more than to have a home to call her very own! Sweetcake has never been aggressive, even when I am struggling to catch her to take to the center! She really dislikes going to the center and knows that it is difficult for me to reach her when she is dead center under the middle of the bed….smart girl! Sweetcake is a quiet cat. She would be a great companion for someone(s) who is looking for a sweet, calm, low-maintenance girl. She sleeps with me at night, to the right of my head. Sometimes she is "stiff" when I pick her up, almost like she doesn't like it, but she LOVES to be petted and loves rubbing up against me when I am in the bathroom. Sweetcake is probably not the best choice for a household with young children who expect a playful, active cat. But for a quiet, adult household, she is truly wonderful. ADOPTED 1/30/10 |

SydneySydney's bio at the time of adoption: Male-neutered, Domestic ShorthairFront-declawed DOB: 04/10/01 Having only known one home for his entire life thus far, Sydney was a bit frightened upon his arrival at PAWS. He's a gentle affectionate boy and now feels much more secure. He's got a serious little face, perhaps indicating his sweet thoughtful ways. He's a terrific roommate for the cats he shares space with at PAWS and has been found sitting quietly in with a newer more scared cat (maybe letting her know that things will be okay again). Like Jarrod, who came to PAWS with him, Sydney truly seems to be a member of the peaceable kingdom and he's very ready to start living in his own forever kingdom. ADOPTED 6/21/10 |

TrefoilTrefoil's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 05/08/09 Originally listed as a tiny little cookie of the Girl Scout Cookie named litter, Trefoil is a bit older, but still very young lady who is coming into her own. Here is what her foster mom has to report on her: Trefoil is a character. She has quite a bit of personality. More playful, pretty active and is always there as soon as I start feeding everyone. Not a super cuddler, sleeps with me some at night, but not every night. Was actually pretty bonded with Ellis, another of my foster cats, as her buddy. Gets along with everyone both cats and my dogs. All are pretty shy at the center...but do very well here. ADOPTED 2/13/10 |

Truman (and Little Miss Sunshine)Truman (and Little Miss Sunshine)'s bio at the time of adoption: Domestic ShorthairDOB: 08/18/09 "We ought to be in the movies, but we'd settle for watching them in our very own home(s)." Truman (Neutered Male) is on the left and Little Miss Sunshine (spayed female) the right. They are the only two remaining Movie Character named kittens waiting for adoption. They are both so gorgeous and lovable. Oftentimes people will pass over a sweet as can be black kitten in favor of some other color. That is such a shame since the color, length or pattern of a cat's fur has absolutely nothing to do with their potential for being super pets and total lovebugs. These two are pals as you can see, but they may be adopted separately. Each is a great catch in its own right. After all, who wouldn't want to have a movie star (or two) in their home? ADOPTED - 2/20/10 - TrumanLittle Miss Sunshine now has an individual listing on the 2010 Cats List |

Still a hesitant fellow, Vincent loves to be patted and to have his ears rubbed, and will respond with the "happy-cat head-butt". While Vincent prefers to stay near his cage he is increasingly curious about the outside world, and will venture out to play with anything dangling from a string. ADOPTED 7/24/10 |

ZoeyZoey's bio at the time of adoption: Female-spayed, Domestic ShorthairDOB: 02/21/09 My name is Zoey, and I’m one of PAWS’ “kit-Teens” who is oh-so-ready to find a home to call my own forever and ever and ever! So what is a “kit-Teen” you ask? Well, I was born in February 2009, which means I’m no longer a kitten but I’m not exactly a crotchety old cat either. :) I’m a very low-keyed, quiet teenager (yes, there are some!), a bit shy at first, but very much a people cat once I’m comfortable with my person(s) and my surroundings. When I settle in, I’ll seek out your attention, play with my toys …I especially like it if you play WITH me….and, hear this, I don’t mind being picked up! (You know how some cats feel about that). I get along very well with other cats, not too sure about dogs yet, but I’ll get to know them a little better now that I’m here at Wiscoy. I’m very good about using my litterbox and my scratchers. And to top it off, everyone tells me how exotic-looking and sweet I am. (Flattery will get you everywhere! :) My siblings all have been adopted, mom too, so…..it’s just me….looking for YOU! -- Zoey ADOPTED 4/18/10 |
