PAWS is an organization of volunteers in Centre County, Pennsylvania, committed to providing humane solutions to our area's pet overpopulation.In order to care for these homeless cats and dogs and to promote responsible pet ownership, PAWS maintains a noneuthanasia animal shelter and administers a spay-neuter assistance program, an educational outreach program, and emergency medical aid funding.

:: Pet First Aid Course May 28 and 29, 2008
Offered for the first time ever, Centre LifeLink EMS is hosting a Pet First Aid Course with certification. You have your choice of either Wednesday, May 28th or Thursday May 29th and seating is limited to only 15 students per class. Students will learn basic care measures for pets that can ease the magnitude of their injuries and illnesses, as well as reduce recovery or rehabilitation time.

:: PAWS Open Monday Evenings Starting June 2, 2008
PAWS will be open on Monday evenings from 5:30-8:00 pm starting June 2, 2008! This is in addition to our regular hours of 11 am - 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Beat the Monday blues by coming out to PAWS to see our cats and dogs available for adoption!

:: Come Meet the PAWS Dogs!
Dogs living in the kennels at PAWS are available to be seen at PAWS Adoption & Education Center on Sat. & Sun., 11-4. Most of the dogs living in foster homes can be seen at PAWS on Sun. from 12-2pm.
*** NEW Starting May 21st, we will be showing selected PAWS dogs on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte from 5:30-7pm! Lyons Kennels is located at 1826 Zion Road.
In addition, we show selected PAWS dogs on the 1st Wednesday of the month at Petco in State College from 5:30-7pm.
If you bring your dog to the showing, please make sure …
- Your dog is up-to-date on all vaccinces, including bordatella (kennel cough)
- Your dog on a 4-5 foot leash (locked if it's a retractable leash)
- Do not allow any dog-to-dog contact during the showing, except under controlled situations.
- Do not bring treats, rawhides or other resources
